Be the difference in a child's life!!!

CASA Job Description: A CASA is a trained, citizen volunteer appointed by the Juvenile Court of Douglas County to ensure that the needs and bests interests of abused and neglected children are met.

Requirements of a CASA:

•  Make a commitment to volunteer for a minimum of one year.

•  Be at least 21 years of age

•  Be willing to donate 1-6 hours per month

•  Attend training sessions and review all training materials provided by the CASA Program

•  Maintain strict confidentiality

•  Maintain objectivity and professionalism in dealing with children, parents and all other parties involved

•  Possess written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities of a CASA:

•  Gets to know the individual child

•  Talks to parents, family and foster parents

•  Talks to teachers, therapists and others who know the child

•  Confers with attorneys and case workers

•  Reviews applicable records

•  Attends all court hearings involving the child
